Phnom Penh: EDC has request to the owner of any hotal four and five star in Phnom Penh to use their own electricity generator even today EDC can not produce power for all of customers. The Invitation was sent to the owner of Hotels and said that, in this short time, in summer in Cambodia, EDC can supply the power to all Hotels in Phnom Penh from 9:00 PM to 8: AM only.
Export was say that it will make impact to Hotel sector.
In the invitation said that, EDC has ability supply power from Monday to Friday from 9:00 PM till 8:00 AM only but for holiday and other vocation we supply as normally.
Mr. Charles-Henri Chevet the director of SotfitelPhnom Penh PhoKeetra was said that, we think that we will increase our spend on electricity power 30%. Electricity prize so expensive in Cambodia. The prize increase 30% to bad and it make our wash many money on it, and we get too low profit.
The report from Lee Royal was said yesterday that, we was get an invitation to use our own electricity generator during April from 8:00 AM to 21: 00 PM .
Mr Lu Meng executive dircetor Hotels association in Cambodia was said that, the invitation was sent to owner of the Hotels to use their own electricity generation and when their use their own their will spend more for oil and the prize to much expensive more than Electricity that supply to them.
Mr. Stefan Voogel Executive director of Intercontinental hotel, express that, the use own electricity generation is to much expensive than use the electricity supply by EDC. The prize more and more high. in fact this decide will make impact to hotel sector to much.
The invitation that sent to the hotels owner was show that, the growing up to fast of Cambodia Economic was make the power supply has the problem. But the issue happen in shortly. the invitation also show that, Cambodia will open new power plan to produce electricity 1st process by coal mine in Shihanuk Ville at June this year.
Mr. San Vibol the researcher of power from RUPP said that, this problem is not a short time to solved because it make impact to business which increase to much in Cambodia, so the Government should resolved this problem by season to season for save more power through people house and any business department.
